Louisiana Bar Reciprocity

Horizontal Navigation Bar w/Rollover Effect

Louisiana Bar Reciprocity does not exist. That is right, at this time bar reciprocity is just dream because Louisiana does not offer reciprocal admission, like many other states. Instead Louisiana requires that any attorney that wishes to practice in the state of Louisiana take the Louisiana bar exam.  Section 11 of the Admission Rules of Louisiana indicate no person can be admitted to practice in Louisiana based solely on the fact that the person is admitted in another bar in a state that gives Louisiana attorneys reciprocity.

The rule is as follows: Section 11. Louisiana Bar Reciprocity. "No person shall be admitted to the Bar based solely upon the fact that such person is admitted to the Bar of another state or because the laws of another state would grant admission to a member of the Bar of this state".
