Wisconsin MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam)

Horizontal Navigation Bar w/Rollover Effect

The state of Wisconsin itself does not administer or control the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”). Rather this ethics exam is conducted by the National Conference of Bar Examiners. The Wisconsin MPRE a separate test than that of the Wisconsin bar exam administered separately from the Wisconsin bar exam. The MPRE is also tested 3 times per year, in March, August as well as in November.

We advise you to visit our Ethics Exam/MPRE page for more general information regarding the MPRE, its application process, and for general questions.

Wisconsin MPRE & Wisconsin MPRE Reciprocity

The state of Wisconsin does not require a MPRE score  to receive a pass or admission to practice law in the state. The Wisconsin MPRE is not required because Wisconsin bar reciprocity rules do not require it.  This means a bar applicant can achieve a passage rate on the MPRE without taking it at all. For additional information check admission on motion facts. You can also find additional information by visiting the Wisconsin Bar Admission website.
