Nevada Bar Exam Format
The Nevada bar exam takes three days or 16 hours and consists of the Nevada Essay Exam, the Multistate Performance Test (“MPT”), and the Multistate Bar Exam (“MBE”). State law is also tested.
Nevada Essay Exam
On the Nevada bar exam there are 7 essays. Each essay is suppose to be completed within one hour. Previous questions and answers can be found here. Nevada bar exam subjects include:

MPT (Multi-State Performance Test)
Nevada Bar Exam also includes two (2) MPT performance test which occurs in the second half of the first day of the exam after an afternoon lunch period which follows the first three hours and three essays of the MEE testing.
MBE (Multiple Choice Bar Exam)
Nevada Bar Exam tests (MBE) is conducted on the second day of the three-day test and consists of a 6 hour time period. Each time period is divided in half so you have 100 questions to answer in the first three hours, followed by a lunch break and then 3 more hours to complete the second 100 questions for a total of 200 questions. UBE and MBE Score Transfer
The state of Nevada does not allow admission on motion or on MBE transfer.
Bar Exam Testing Schedule
Day 1
- First three hours = 3 MEE Essays
- Lunch Break
- Second 3 hours = 2 MPTs
Day 2
- Morning first 3 hours – MBE Part 1 (100 questions)
- Lunch Break
- Afternoon second 3 hours – MBE Part 2 (100 questions)
Day 3
- 4 hours of essay questions (4 total questions)
Grading
Nevada bar exam final scores are based on a scalable score. The minimum score to pass is 273/400. Appeals are not allowed. Applicants who fail may retake the test up to four times. On the fourth time, permission to take must be asked by the applicant to the state.
